Ben spent many years in theatre, creating, devising and directing plays with and for young people, working all over London, for theatres including Hampstead Theatre, The Half Moon Young People’s Theatre and The Almeida.

He has written many scripts, and in 2009 completed the Creative Writing MA: Scriptwriting at the University Of East Anglia. He was a writer in Development at the Half Moon Young People’s Theatre for whom he wrote The End of Threedom Avenue, a full-scale theatre show involving 3 youth theatres, which was performed in July 2010. He also won Menagerie Theatre’s SPARKS scriptwriting competition in 2008, where his play, Teenage Love In Twisted Dreamland received a staged reading at The Junction Theatre, Cambridge.

He has a strong interest in psychology and well-being. Since 2015 he’s worked in Publishing and Marketing, promoting and publicising many self-help authors.

In 2020 he ghost-wrote therapist Malcolm Stern’s book Slay Your Dragons with Compassion: Ten Ways to Thrive Even When It Feels Impossible (Watkins Publishing) and continues to ghostwrite for various clients.

Ben was born in Colchester and grew up in London, and now lives in Brighton with his partner Tara and son Theo. He loves telling stories and helping individuals and companies tell theirs. He is available to teach creative writing workshops and for school visits.

Ben’s first Young Adult Book for QuoScript’s TUSK imprint publishes in Summer 2021.
