New UK Based Publisher QuoScript launches during pandemic

QuoScript, an exciting new UK based independent publishing company, has officially launched. QuoScript is all about quality: quality writing, quality authors, quality books. It is an experimental publisher, keen to foster new writing and design talent, including new styles of writing in Crime, Young Adult fiction and, eventually, a variety of other genres.

The brainchild of two experienced publishers, QuoScript has already set up partnerships with distinguished professionals in the publishing supply chain. At first QuoScript will focus on publishing Young Adult and Crime fiction under its TUSK and Poisoned Chalice imprints. Future publishing plans include developing non-fiction and academic monographs imprints.

QuoScript’s crime list launches with the crime writer Christina James’s (previously published by Salt) new novel, De Vries, a sequel to Sausage Hall, her most successful novel to date.

Linda Bennett, co-founder and Creative and Editorial Director of QuoScript, comments:

“We are very fortunate to have attracted so much enthusiasm and support from highly respected supply-chain partners, who have readily put their faith in us during this extraordinary year. We believe that QuoScript can really make a difference and we are delighted to become part of the UK small press publishing scene. We hope to become colleagues and peers of the other renowned small presses in this country. We are not trying to rival them, but to forge the way for our own publishing niche alongside them.”

Print-on-demand publisher services will be provided by Ingram Content Group’s Lightning Source.

“At Ingram, we believe strongly in supporting independent publishers and welcome the diversity they bring to the industry. Working with QuoScript presents an opportunity to make their titles available to our tens of thousands of global retailers. We wish them every success,” said Ingram’s Senior Marketing Manager Andrew Bromley.

QuoScript is also keen to work with other small presses who require book marketing and distribution services. It has already set up a marketing and supply arrangement with DoubleAPublishing a Ukraine based independent publisher who is looking to extend its readership into new markets.

Andrew Afonin, Founder, DoubleAPublishing, comments:

“We are delighted to be entering into a partnership with QuoScript. Ukrainian writers are exceptionally talented and they have fans throughout the world, but getting access to their work can sometimes be difficult. We are confident that now QuoScript is making their work more widely available their popularity will increase hugely. We want to enable book-lovers everywhere to be able to enjoy the rich spirit of the Ukrainian culture; and we are certain that, through QuoScript, readers in the UK and USA will quickly grow to love our Ukrainian authors.”

QuoScript is passionate about fostering new talent and will offer yet-to-be-published authors additional support; equally, established authors are welcome to send submissions. A NaNoWriMo competition was launched in October to encourage submissions from interested authors at all stages of their careers (https://quoscript.co.uk/national-novel-writing-month-the-quoscript-challenge).
